Wildcats Open Big Ten Play at Penn State on Friday

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats face their first Big Ten test of the season at Penn State on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT from Jeffrey Field and will be streamed on B1G+.

Northwestern is 2-2-2 this season while the Nittany Lions are 3-2-1. The Wildcats are coming off a 1-0 defeat at Xavier on Sunday after an 87th minute goal gave the Musketeers the lead. 

Head Coach Russell Payne will make his Big Ten debut against a Penn State side coming off of a second place finish in the Big Ten, an appearance in the Big Ten Tournament Championship and a trip to the Sweet Sixteen in the Spring 2021 season. 

The Willdcats continue to see strong contributions in net from both goalkeepers Miha Miskovic and Ethan Bandre. Julian Zighelboim and Deng Deng Kur have turned in strong performances at center back all season, as well as Quinn Dudek. The 'Cats have posted a 0.67 goals-against-average as a team, the third-best mark in the Big Ten.
