DAVIS ANNOUNCES TWO ADDITIONS TO WILDCATS' ROSTER
 
EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern volleyball head coach Shane Davis has announced a pair of roster additions as Leilani Dodson and Ariel Amaya will join the Wildcats prior to the 2021 fall season.
 
LEILANI DODSON | LA GRANGE, ILL. | NAZARETH ACADEMY | BYU | MIDDLE BLOCKER
Played 2021 spring season at BYU … Helped the Cougars to a 17-2 season and Sweet 16 appearance … Named to the WCC All-Freshman Team after racking up 104 kills, 41 blocks, 20 digs and 14 aces in the regular season … Two-time all-conference selection and News-Gazette All-State first team honoree at Nazareth … Named to VolleyballMag.com's 'Fab 50' and 'Underclassmen to Watch' in high school … PrepVolleyball Senior Ace No. 33.
 
DAVIS ON DODSON…
We are ecstatic to have Leilani join our Wildcat family. She possesses a wealth of experience and talent, in addition to being a high-character individual on and off the court. It's great to bring this Chicagoland native back home after she had a phenomenal first-year collegiate campaign.

Four-year letterwinner at Plainfield North … Helped the Tigers capture a regional championship in 2019 … Played club for Sports Performance 18 Elite and won Open AAU National Championships from 2017-19 … Member of Sports Performance 18 Elite that earned a bronze finish at the 2019 18 Open … Club team captain … Two-time AAU Academic All-American … Father, Ashraf Amaya, is a retired professional basketball player – won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 1998 FIBA World Championships.

We are thrilled to welcome Ariel Amaya to our Northwestern volleyball family. We have been impressed with Ariels' commitment, leadership, and integrity. She is a program captain for her club and we are excited for her work ethic to add to our culture. Ariel's physicality and versatility will be a great asset in our gym and we can't wait for her to be on campus.
