EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will compete in the Stillwater, Oklahoma NCAA Regional from May 17-19. They will participate as the 11-seed in a 13-team field. The number one seed in the Stillwater Regional is Oklahoma State, the host of the regional and champions of the Big 12 Conference.
This marks the Wildcats' fifth straight season advancing to the NCAA Regionals, dating back to the 2016 season. The 2018 NCAA Championships were the last time the 'Cats competed in Stillwater where they finished tied for 16th in the 30-team field.
Karsten Creek Golf Club will be played as a par 72, 7,502-yard course for the NCAA Regionals. The club will host Oklahoma State, Illinois, Auburn, SMU, Notre Dame, Alabama, Baylor, Sam Houston, Little Rock, Ole Miss, Northwestern, College of Charleston, and Middle Tennessee. Northwestern will be competing against crosstown rival Illinois for the Regional crown.
NU has qualified for the NCAA Regionals in 17 of 21 opportunities in the 21st century. Out of those 17 selections, the 'Cats have moved onto the Championship round five times.
Six regionals hosting 81 teams and 45 individuals will be happening simultaneously from May 17-19. The other sites include Noblesville, Indiana; Tallahassee, Florida; Kingston Springs, Tennessee; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Cle Elum, Washington.
Northwestern is coming off a third place finish at the Big Ten Championships. The 'Cats are seeking their first NCAA Regional victory in program history.
