Northwestern Drops Opener to Nebraska


LINCOLN, Neb. — Northwestern dropped the series opener to Nebraska on Friday evening. 

The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning. Tommy D'Alise notched his first career hit in a pinch-hit appearance in the ninth inning, bringing in Anthony Calarco for the first Northwestern run. Two batters later, David Dunn scored Shawn Goosenberg on a RBI single to right field. 

Tony Livermore had a career high two hits for the Wildcats. Goosenberg also extended his hitting streak to five games. 

Chicago's Big Ten Team will play the second game of the series at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday.
