Wildcats Stumble to 1-0 Defeat at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Despite outshooting the Buckeyes, Northwestern fell 1-0 to Ohio State on the road Sunday. 

The loss moved Northwestern back to .500 with a 5-5 record with one game to play in the regular season. 

Rowan Lapi led all Wildcats with three shots and Regan Steigleder, Aurea Martin and Josie Aulicino all recorded two attempts. 

Junior Mackenzie Wood started in goal and made one save. Lapi and Steigleder played the full 90 minutes, as did Ella Hase, Danika Austin and Hallie Pearson on the backline. 

The Wildcats allowed just two shots on goal. 

Northwestern concludes its regular season with Senior Day in a rivalry matchup against Illinois on Saturday, Apr. 3. Kickoff is set for noon at Martin Stadium.
