Scane Earns Pair of Weekly Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. — After a dominant offensive performance in Northwestern's weekend series sweep of No. 15 Rutgers, junior Izzy Scane was named US Lacrosse's Division I Women's Player of the Week and the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

Izzy Scane, Northwestern
Jr. – A – Clarkston, Mich. – Cranbrook Kingswood
  • Scored a combined 15 goals and three assists for 18 total points in back-to-back wins against then-ranked No. 15 Rutgers, helping the No. 3-ranked Wildcats improve to 7-0 on the season. Also forced three turnovers, scooped three ground balls and tallied a draw control on the week.
  • Set a new program record with a career-high 10 goals in Northwestern's 22-10 win over Rutgers. The 10 goals broke the previous Northwestern single-game record of nine, which was originally set in 1982 by Kathleen Kochmansky and had been matched four times since, most recently by Selena Lasota on March 14, 2019.
  • Recorded eight points on five goals and three assists in the Wildcats' 21-7 win over the Scarlet Knights on Sunday.
  • Currently leads the country in both goals (42). Her 10 goals against Rutgers are tied with Hofstra's Alyssa Parrella (10 vs. Villanova) for the most in a single-game in the nation this season. Scane has also recorded the most points in a game in all of Division 1 this season, as she previously notched 12 (nine goals and three assists) in Northwestern's season opener against Ohio State.
  • Garners her third career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor. Was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2019 and earned the conference's Freshman of the Week honor six times that season.
  •  Last Northwestern Offensive Player of the Week: Lauren Gilbert (March 16, 2021)
