EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern and Wisconsin battled to a 1-1 draw Monday evening at Ryan Fieldhouse in Evanston thanks to a 62nd minute goal from Ugo Achara Jr.
The Wildcats move to 2-3-1overall on the season, while the Badgers improve to 0-5-1. The goal was Achara's team-leading fifth of the season and came on a bicycle kick in the box on an assist from Richie Bennett.
Wisconsin scored the equalizer in the 68th minute.
Northwestern tallied 13 shots in the effort with five of the attempts coming on target. Ethan Bandre earned the start in net for NU and made six saves on 14 shots faced.
The Wildcats return to action on Friday, March 19, when they host Penn State at noon CT.
