EAST LANSING, Mich. – Northwestern was held scoreless for the first time all season in a 2-0 setback to Michigan State in East Lansing on Thursday.
The Spartans got on the board early with a goal in the 35th minute, but the Wildcats responded with significant pressure in the MSU box to close the first frame. On the whole, shots in the first half were a 6-4 advantage in favor of Michigan State.
MSU added to its lead in the 62nd minute after collecting a goal behind the Wildcats' backline and finding the back of the net.
Miha Miskovic made the start in net and recorded three saves on the afternoon.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Monday, March 15 as they host the Wisconsin Badgers at Ryan Fieldhouse beginning at 6 pm CT.
