The Kabiller Award is a major component of Northwestern's transformative Kabiller NU for Life program, which seeks to leverage alumni connections and employer relationships to advance student-athlete's professional aspirations. The award has provided a wide range of professional exploration experiences, including global and domestic enrichment opportunities. To date, 38 juniors have earned the award through a competitive application process. A compilation of all winners can be found here.

The Kabiller NU for Life Program began in 2012 following a generous donation to Northwestern Athletics by David Kabiller, a member of the University's Board of Trustees and a former Wildcat tennis player. In 2019, Kabiller committed a multimillion-dollar gift to endow the program, securing support for generations of future Wildcats student-athletes. The award, named in honor of David's late father, is now in its eighth class of recipients. Student-athletes are required to submit an application that details their intended use for the funds, as well as interview with a committee of athletic department and campus representatives.
