Wildcats Top Wisconsin, 6-1

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The seventh-ranked Wildcats took down the Wisconsin Badgers 6-1 on Sunday. The 'Cats went 5-1 in singles while sweeping doubles for the final point.

 

Northwestern is now 9-1 on the season and 6-0 in Big Ten play.

 

Clarissa Hand improved to 8-1 on the season from the No. 3  singles spot after cruising past her opponent in two sets, winning 6-0 and 6-2.

 

Maria Shusharina grinded out a tough one in the No. 1 singles match, taking two of the three sets (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).

 

Briana Crowley and Hannah McColgan picked up wins in two sets while Caroline Pozo pulled out a win in three sets after dropping the first. 

 

Chicago's Big Ten Team will travel to East Lansing for a Saturday morning meet against the Michigan State Spartans at 10 a.m. CT
