WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Northwestern returned to the floor against No. 11 Purdue Friday night, ultimately falling 3-0 to the Boilermakers. The loss brings the 'Cats to 2-1 on the season.
Friday marked Northwestern's first game action since it swept Rutgers in back-to-back matches on Jan. 22 and 23. The Wildcats paused team activities Feb. 1 out of an abundance of caution for the program's student-athletes and staff.
Standout sophomore Temi Thomas-Ailara led Chicago's Big Ten Team with 10 kills, 31 attacks and three blocks. Senior Alana Walker also recorded three blocks for the 'Cats.
Megan Miller and Abryanna Cannon set the standard for digs with Miller's nine and Cannon's eight more than any other player on the court. Junior Kiara McNulty posted 20 assists, bringing her total on the season to 79 in just three matches.
The 'Cats will face this same Boilermaker team in West Lafayette again tomorrow with a start time set for 6:30 p.m. CT. Live coverage can be found on the Big Ten Network.
