EVANSTON, Ill. - Senior guard Lindsey Pulliam was one of 50 players named to the 2020-2021 Naismith Trophy Watch List and one of 30 players named to the Wade Trophy Watch List on Tuesday.
The Naismith Trophy is awarded annually by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the best men's and women's basketball players in the country. The mid-season list of 30 candidates will be announced in early February 2021, with 10 semi-finalists revealed on March 2nd and four finalists named on March 19th. The winner will be announced on April 3rd.
The Wade Trophy is awarded annually by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association to the best women's basketball player in the country who also displays "the Spirit of Margaret Wade". The award will be presented at the WBCA National Convention in April 2021.
Pulliam was named Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year honors last Wednesday and also received a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Big Ten team by both the coaches and the media.
Coming off a season in which she earned AP All-American Honorable Mention honors and a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection, Pulliam is seeking to become the first winner of either award in Northwestern program history.
The Silver Springs, Md. averaged 18.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game last season, finishing third in the Big Ten in scoring.
