EVANSTON, Ill. – Senior guard Lindsey Pulliam was named the 2020-21 Media Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year, as decided by the conference's panel of media voters, the Big Ten announced Wednesday morning.
In addition, Pulliam earned a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team for both the coaches and the media. Pulliam was one of only two players to be selected unanimously to both teams.
Pulliam finished as a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten first team in 2020, and was also received honorable mention All America honors by both the AP and the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). She was a semifinalist for the 2020 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, given to the nation's top shooting guard, and she made the 2021 watch list on Tuesday.
The Silver Spring, Md. native will begin her quest this season to become the first Big Ten Player of the Year at Northwestern since Anucha Browne took home the honor in 1984 and 1985.
In 2019, Pulliam ranked third in the conference in scoring average with 18.8 points per game, while she chipped in 4.7 rebounds per game. She led the conference with nine games with 25+ points.
