EVANSTON, Ill. - Junior guard Veronica Burton earned a selection to both the coaches and media Preseason All-Big Ten Team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.
Burton's preseason honors come on the heels of her Big Ten Defensive Player of the Campaign in 2019-20 alongside a selection to the coaches and media Second Team All-Big Ten.
The Newton, Mass. native has led the Big Ten in steals for two seasons in a row and finished last season in the top ten nationally in steals per game. Burton averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game in 2019-20.
Burton joined Pulliam on the preseason All-Big Ten list to give Northwestern two honorees, one of only two schools in the Big Ten to do so.
Additionally, both the coaches and the media submitted their polls for the top five teams in the Big Ten. The Wildcats were picked to finish second by the media and fourth by the coaches.
