Supported by Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Athletics will spotlight a 'Community Group of the Game' during each week of a home football game.
In this week's spotlight, the athletic department recognizes Family Focus, an Evanston-based organization that provides parents and their children with critical resources and learning opportunities to promote healthy development, self-confidence and social skills.
The department works closely with Family Focus through volunteerism. On most weekends, one can find student-athletes sorting through items in the donation closet, packing care bags for community members and organizing canned goods in the food pantry. Additionally, every year student-athletes on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee spearhead a Canned Good Drive, a proud tradition in the department that raises canned foods to support the organization and its members.
