Wildcats Add Transfer Emils Jurcik

EVANSTON, IL – Northwestern Director of Swimming and Diving Katie Robinson announced the addition of junior transfer Emils Jurcik to the 2020-21 roster. Jurcik, a Landenberg, Pa native joins the Wildcats after representing  University of Connecticut for two seasons under Head Coach Chris Maiello.
 
Coach Robinson on Jurcik: "Emils will be a fantastic edition to our team especially due to his strengths in the IM events. We foresee him developing his other events as well to be a top contender in the Big Ten Conference. He comes to us hungry after only two years at UConn and ready to make strong an impact on the program and maximize his potential."
 
At UConn: In first year as a Husky, Jurcik was a two time finalist at the ACC Championship with top-five finishes in the 200 IM and 1650 Free. He finished the 2018-19 season with eight individual wins, with notable wins at Villanova and Boston College in the 100 and 200 Free. In his sophomore outing, Jurcik finished top three at the 2020 ACC Championship in the 200 IM with a seasons best time of 1:45.93.
