EVANSTON, Ill. - No. 19 Northwestern staged a dramatic late-game comeback to secure a 60-56 victory over Nebraska in Sunday afternoon's Play4Kay game at Welsh-Ryan arena.

The victory puts the Wildcats at 12-2 in conference play and 22-3 overall.  They currently sit second behind Maryland in the Big Ten standings.

Nebraska kept the Wildcat offense relatively quiet in the first half.  Senior Abi Scheid led the effort, scoring nine points on 4-6 shooting, but her efforts weren't enough as Northwestern fell behind 33-29 heading into the break.

The Wildcats trailed for most of the second half, too, but sophomore Veronica Burton and junior Jordan Hamilton proved the offensive sparks the team needed.  After putting up 10 points in the third quarter, Burton sunk a three-point shot that briefly put the Wildcats back on top.  Nebraska quickly answered with a field goal of their own, but Hamilton hit another three to tie the teams up at 56 a piece. With less than a minute remaining in the game, Lindsey Pulliam came through in clutch, scoring the final field goal the Wildcats would need to lock up another victory.

Burton had a great day on both sides of the ball, leading the team in both points (21) and steals (3).  Pulliam had a respectable day too, falling just short of a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.  This ties a career high for the junior, who also snagged ten in last season's WNIT Championship game.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they host Rutgers at Welsh Ryan Arena.  Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
