'Cats Shine at Gene Edmonds Memorial Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Northwestern kicked off its indoor track season at the Gene Edmonds Memorial Invite highlighted by a second place finish by first-year Kayla Byrne
 
GENE EDMONDS MEMORIAL INVITE RESULTS
 
Byrne finished with a 9:57.30 time in the 3000-meter, marking the first top-5 finish of her career. Former Wildcat, Clare Severe took home the first place finish with a 9:56.99 time. The graduate student ran unattached as an individual entry. 
 
Five other Wildcats placed in the top-15 along with Byrne. Sophomore Hannah Hall clocked in at 10:18.92 for fifth place. 
 
Next up, Chicago's Big Ten Team will travel to San Diego for USATF XC on Jan. 18.
