STATE COLLEGE, Penn. – No. 14 Northwestern's run at the Big Ten Tournament came to an end in the semifinals, with a 2-1 setback to No. 7 Iowa on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats (14-7) will find out tomorrow evening if they earned one of the eight at-large bids up for the grabs in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Maren Seidel put the 'Cats out in front just two minutes into the game after converting on a penalty corner assisted by Christen Conley and Bente Baekers. The goal marks the sixth of the season for Seidel, the third highest output on the team.

The Wildcats dominated the first quarter, taking four shots and earning three penalty corners while holding the Hawkeyes to zero in both categories. However, two goals from Iowa in the second quarter proved to be the difference.

Florien Marcussen notched five saves on the match, marking the eighth game this season in which the junior goalkeeper has recorded at least five saves.

As a team, Northwestern held its opponent to two goals or fewer in 17 of their last 19 games to close out the season, including all but one of their 10 games against Big Ten opponents.
