Wildcats Sweep Buckeyes, 3-0

Columbus, OH – Northwestern swept Ohio State Friday evening in front of an Ohio State senior night crowd, 3-0.
 
The Wildcats dominated set one defeating the Buckeyes, 25-16.
 
First-year Temi Thomas-Ailara making her presence know, leading the Wildcats with a team-high 12 kills and five blocks.
 
Nia Robinson wasn't far behind, notching her 311th kill of the season and her eighth consecutive game with at least five kills. The junior also added two blocks to help the 'Cats control the net and out block the Buckeyes 12-5.
 
Ohio State jumped out to an early lead in the second set before the 'Cats stormed back on a 10-4 run to take set two, 25-21.
 
NU doubled the Ohio State hitting percentage, with five 'Cats notching at least three kills. In addition to the combined 23 kills from Thomas-Ailara and Robinson, NU had contributions from juniors Alana Walker and Ella Grbac and first-year Desiree Becker
 
Despite a late 6-0 run for Ohio State in set three, Northwestern was able to hold off the Bucks to sweep the match.
 
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back on the court Sunday afternoon in a rematch against Maryland at 12 pm CT in College Park.
