'Cats Wrap Up Fall Slate at NCAA Regionals

STILLWATER, OK. - The Wildcats wrapped up their fall season at the NCAA Midwest Regionals in Stillwater, OK. On Friday afternoon. 
 
Northwestern finished 13th out of 33 teams. Fellow Big Ten school Illinois took home the Regional Title. Sophomore Rachel McCardell led the 'Cats with a 36th place finish at 21:39.6, beating her 2018 Regionals time by 4 seconds.

"We certainly saw growth today and I'm proud of the way in which the team competed," Head Coach Jill Miller said. "I am excited to capitalize on this momentum as we turn toward training for the indoor season and beyond."

Senior Sarah Nicholson finished in 56th with a time of 22:01.3, senior Kelly O'Brien finished 70th posting a 22:10.9 time and first-year Abby Osterlund finished 88th with a time of 22:22.3 in her first regionals appearance.
 
Chciago's Big Ten Team will begin preparation for their indoor season, beginning on January 11th at the Gene Edmonds Invitational.
