EVANSTON, IL – First-years Hannah Brunzell and Marcus Mok and sophomore Yohan Eskrick-Parkinson brought home four of the six Big Ten weekly awards, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Brunzell brings home her second Freshman and first Swimmer of the Week honors after tallying five individual wins and was a part of two top-finishing relays in the 'Cats wins over Michigan State and Oakland last weekend.
On the men's side, Northwestern claimed two of the three honors with Mok and Eskrick-Parkinson both earning their first weekly honors.
Mok was first to the wall in five of his six individual events and was also a part of two first place relays to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week. The first-year swam first leg on the 200 medley relay and second on the 400 medley relay to contribute 65 points over the weekend.
Eskrick-Parkinson swept the weekend, winning the 1M and 3M dive against both MSU and Oakland to earn Big Ten Diver of the Week honors. En route to an undefeated weekend, the sophomore earned NCAA Zone Diving standards in both events.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in the pool Nov 22-24 for the prestigious TYR Invitational at the Norris Aquatics Center.
