TOLEDO, Ohio — Senior Brooke Riley and sophomore Kelly Su are in the top 30 after a pair of rounds at the Glass City Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo.
Riley and Su are each 6-over through 36 holes at the Wildcats' first tournament of the season. The 'Cats are in eighth at 24-over in the 13-team field, leading the field with 117 pars
Sophomores Kelly Sim and Jane Lu are tied for 35th at 7-over, while first year Irene Kim will enter the final round tied for 45th at 9-over.
Su led the Wildcats with five birdies Monday, including three on the front nine as she went out 1-under in the second round to move her way up the leaderboard. Lu led the 'Cats in the morning round with a 1-over, 73, thanks to posting a bogey-free back nine, but shot 6-over in the afternoon.
Riley was just 2-over through 18 holes, but was unable replicate her performance in the afternoon. Sim was 5-over through 18 holes, but bounced back in the afternoon with a 2-over, 74.
Northwestern will look to work its way up the leaderboard with a strong finish Tuesday morning. The 'Cats will tee off at 7 a.m. alongside Furman, Baylor and Texas A&M. The conclusion of the tournament will be streamed on ESPN3 beginning at 11 a.m. CT.
