Wildcats Hang Tough With No. 18 Jayawks in 1-0 Defeat

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern battled No. 18 Kansas in a wire-to-wire effort Friday night, but fell 1-0 at Martin Stadium. 

The Wildcats had their chances with three shots on goal, including two headers off of corner kicks, but could not find the the back of the net. 

Chicago's Big Ten Team concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule and has a full week off before its next match. The 'Cats open Big Ten play on the road in Champaign, Ill. next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff against rivals Illinois.

  • Junior Regan Steigleder had the best chance of the game for Northwestern on a header from a corner kick. 
  • Sophomore Mackenzie Wood made three saves in goal.
