EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern field hockey has earned its second-consecutive Big Ten Weekly honors, the conference announced on Monday, with first-year midfielder Peyton Halsey being recognized for her contributions against Duke and Boston College.
The Reading, Pa. native registered goals against both the Blue Devils and Eagles. On Friday against No. 3 Duke, she registered her first-career collegiate goal just 37 seconds into the match to give the 'Cats an early advantage. On Sunday, she provided the game-tying tally against No. 13 Boston College in the Wildcats' 3-2 comeback victory. Her two goals are tied for second among the Wildcats' roster, trailing only fellow first-year and previous Freshman of the Week winner, Bente Baekers.
Halsey will look to continue her success this weekend when the 'Cats square off against UMass Lowell at noon on Friday, Sept. 13 on the lakeshore and another ACC opponent at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Wake Forest.
