'Cats Kick Off Preseason in Martin Stadium

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern opens its 2019 fall campaign with a pair of preseason friendlies on Monday against Green Bay and on Friday at Evansville.

The Wildcats will welcome the Green Bay Phoenix to Martin Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff with free admission. 

On Friday, Aug. 23, the 'Cats will close out their preseason in Evansville, IN. with a 6 p.m. matchup against the Aces.
 
Earlier this spring, the Wildcats visited Spain and England for a once-in-a-lifetime trip as they took on competition in Madrid, Spain and Liverpool, England as well as tour some of the world's most premiere training facilities. Northwestern also added two highly talented assistant coaches to the staff, Devin Rensing and Chris Leer
 
Following their trip to Europe, the Wildcats hit the ground running, defeating DePaul to advance to the Chicago Cup final in Ryan Fieldhouse and Wilson Field where the #B1GCats took home the title in a 2-1 victory over Loyola. 

Northwestern will be led by its six seniors, including Matt Moderwell who tallied five goals and one assist. On defense, sophomore Miha Miskovic finished his rookie campaign with eight shutouts, ranking 9th in the nation and tied for first in the Big Ten. 

Chicago's Big Ten Team will officially begin its season on August 30 at 4 p.m. as they take on UCLA in Bloomington, IN. before the home opener on Sept. 6 for a Friday night matchup against Lehigh in Martin Stadium.
