EVANSTON, Ill. – Four Northwestern athletes have been selected to represent Team USA on the U19 National Team in the 2019 World Lacrosse Women's U19 Championships in Peterborough Ontario this August.
Current Wildcats Madison Doucette, Elle Hansen, Izzy Scane and Greta Stahl to represent the US on the 18-player roster.
"We could have picked any of these players," said U19 Head Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. "They're all unbelievable with great attitudes and are just a joy to work with. This was truly a very hard decision to make. We had a lot of considerations, including our style of play and how we could be successful with our choices. The depth of talent in the United States is unbelievable. It's been really fun to work with all of them and it's unfortunate to see some of them go."
The World Lacrosse Championship will run August 1-10 with Team USA taking on Australia August 2 in their opening game. The US has won four of the last six World Championships, with the most recent being in 2011.
