LOS ANGELES — The Northwestern women's cross country program put together a strong showing in its final regular season outdoor track meet of the season at the Oxy Invite Saturday.
The Wildcats posted four top-10 finishes, highlighted by junior Aubrey Roberts' victory in the 5K. Roberts, an All-American in the event during the indoor season, won the race by more than three seconds over the second-place finisher with a time of 16:05.26.
Fellow junior Sarah Nicholson also ran in heat one of the 5K and finished 10th with a time of 16:44.07. Sophomore Hannah Tobin finished third in her heat and 51st overall by crossing the finish line in 18:09.47.
The 'Cats had a pair of runners finish in the top six in the 1,500-meter. Senior Isabel Seidel won her heat and posted a time of of 4:27.12 to finish fifth overall, while junior Kelly O'Brien finished fifth in heat one and sixth overall in 4:27.65.
Chicago's Big Ten Team await final assignments for the NCAA West Regional Preliminary to be held in Sacramento, California, May 23-25.
