Wildcats Earn Right to Host First & Second Rounds as No. 4 Seed

EVANSTON, Ill. — The 2019 Big Ten Tournament Champion Northwestern lacrosse program earned the No. 4 seed in the 2019 NCAA Tournament as the Big Ten's automatic qualifier. 

The Wildcats will host first and second round games at Martin Stadium on Friday, May 10 and Sunday, May 12. Notre Dame and Stanford will square off on Friday at 7 p.m. for the right to play the 'Cats in the second round on Sunday at 1 pm. 

NU earned the Big Ten's automatic bid after defeating No. 1 seed Maryland for its first-ever conference tournament title Sunday afternoon, 16-11.

This year marks the 21st all-time berth in the NCAA Tournament for the seven-time national champion Wildcats, and the 16th in Kelly Amonte Hiller's storied 18-year career as head coach of the 'Cats. Amonte Hiller is 42-8 in her career in the NCAA Tournament and this season is setting her sights on guiding Northwestern to an 12th appearance in the national semifinals and eighth national championship.
