EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern is set to host UIC on Tuesday, April 24 in mid-week, non-conference action.
The Wildcats and the Flames will be playing their second contest of the year. UIC narrowly took the first game, 4-2, on April 3 at Curtis Granderson Stadium.
The Flames are 18-15 and have won seven of their last nine. Offensively, the Flames are led by Ryan Hampe, who is batting .400 in 90 at-bats. Braeden Toikka, who will start for UIC, is 2-2 with a 6.75 ERA.
Northwestern remains one of the fastest teams in the Big Ten, as their 58 stolen bases pace the Conference. Jack Dunn leads the Wildcats with 10 swiped bags on 13 attempts.
Southpaw Parker Hanks will man the bump for the 'Cats. He is 3-2 with a 4.18 ERA for NU this season in 10 appearances, four of which have been starts.
After the Tuesday game, Northwestern will play at Michigan State for a three-game series starting on Friday.
