EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern is set to have its first double-midweek action this week with a home game vs. Chicago State and a road match-up at UIC.
NU is coming into the contest winners of four-straight games, including a weekend sweep of San José State. Senior infielder Jack Dunn hit .583 over the four-win week.
The Wildcats will be having their second matchup with Chicago State this season, as the Wildcats downed the Cougars, 13-1, last Wednesday at Chicago State. Rookie Mike Doherty tossed 5.0-scoreless frames in the Northwestern victory.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be playing UIC for the first time this season after the two squads' March 5 matchup was postponed.
Jack Dunn is leading the Big Ten in batting average by nine points, owning a .384 mark this season. He also paces the Conference by a mile with his .497 on-base percentage.
The Wildcats have been very active on the base-paths; their 34 stolen bases lead the Big Ten.
NU will play a three-game set at Ohio State after their mid-week contests.
