'Cats Travel to Rutgers for Wednesday Matinee

EVANSTON, Ill. — After time off for finals, No. 24 Northwestern women's tennis returns to the court in East Brunswick, New Jersey, for a showdown with Rutgers on Wednesday, March 27 at 12:30 p.m. CT. The match will take place at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.

Northwestern (9-5, 3-0 B1G) is in action for the first time since topping Purdue, 5-2, on March 10. The Wildcats have won three consecutive matches entering the contest versus the Scarlet Knights, all of which have been against Big Ten opponents.
 
First year Clarissa Hand is ranked No. 29 in the latest ITA singles rankings. She is 6-8 at the No. 1 position for the Wildcats with four ranked wins. Julie Byrne owns a team-best eight singles win in the dual season, all of which have come at the No. 2 spot.
 
Lee Or and Hand are currently ranked No. 47 in the latest ITA doubles rankings. The duo is 7-5 this season and 3-2 against ranked opponents.
 
Rutgers (8-5, 0-3 B1G) is searching for its first Big Ten win of the season. The Scarlet Knights topped Southern (March 22), 7-0, and Binghamton (March 23), 6-1, over the weekend.
 
Northwestern is 4-0 all-time against Rutgers.
