AUSTIN, Texas – On day two of competition, sophomore Calypso Sheridan earned her first All-American honors, while also breaking a seven year-old Big Ten record in the 400 IM.
Sheridan started the day with a fourth place finish in the 400 IM prelims, setting a new school record with a time of 4:03.30.
One of two sophomores to make the final, Sheridan came back for the evening finals and finishing in a time of 4:01.35, dropping almost three seconds on her person best and breaking the previous Big Ten record of 4:01.41.
Sheridan is the first Wildcat swimmer to earn All-American honors since Jenny Wilson's eight place finish in the 100 breast at the 2012 NCAA Championship.
The 'Cats will be back in the pool tomorrow with Sheridan in the 200 breast and reigning champion Olivia Rosendahl on the platform.
