HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — First year Kelly Sim led the 15th-ranked Northwestern women's golf program for the third-straight day, posting a 2-over, 73, to finish the eighth annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate tied for 12th.
Sim finished the 54-hole event with a 4-over, 271 (73-71-73). She was 3-over at nine holes of the third round Sunday at the Long Cove Club, but responded to shoot 1-under on the front nine thanks in part to three birdies, including on the par-4 ninth to close the tournament.

The Wildcats moved up another spot on Sunday and finished the tournament 12th with a 54-hole score of 39-over (891; 300-295-296). Florida State won the event at 2-under as the only team to finish under par.
Senior Janet Mao responded in the final round to post her lowest score of the weekend, matching Sim with a 2-over, 73, while senior Stephanie Lau and junior Brooke Riley were each 4-over in the final round. Lau finished the tournament tied for 41st (+11), Mao was 46th (+12) and Riley was tied for 58th (+16).
Northwestern will be back in action at the PING ASU Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona, March 29-31.
