EVANSTON, Ill. — The field for the 2019 ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships was announced Wednesday morning and No. 12 Northwestern is set to meet No. 8 Texas in the first round of the 16-team tournament on Friday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. CT.
TOURNAMENT CENTRAL | BRACKET
The indoor championships run from Feb. 8-11 in Seattle, Washington. It is a single-elimination tournament, but each team is guaranteed three dual matches over the course of the weekend. The field features 15 ranked teams from the Oracle/ITA top-25 poll, including the nation's top-10 teams.
Northwestern (3-2) is making its first appearance at the indoor championships since 2014. The Wildcats qualified for the event by knocking off No. 22 UCF, 4-3, and No. 17 Miami, 4-3, during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Jan. 26-27.
Texas (3-1) had its three-match winning streak snapped last weekend when it fell to Michigan, 6-1, in Ann Arbor.
The Wildcats are 11-8 all-time against the Longhorns,
Live results will be provided by Tennis Ticker and will be updated throughout the weekend. Live streaming will be available for the matches played at Nordstrom Tennis Center. Northwestern and Texas are playing their opening round match at the Seattle Tennis Club, so there will not be a stream available.
