EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern (13-8, 6-4 Big Ten) returns to Welsh-Ryan Arena Sunday afternoon to host Ohio State in the annual #Play4Kay "Pink Game" as well as recognize former players in an Alumni Day celebration. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
The Wildcats are coming off a hard-fought contest against Minnesota, falling 61-54. Senior Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah recorded her sixth straight double-double and 13th of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Two other Wildcats posted double-digit performances, Veronica Burton (13) and Lindsey Pulliam (10). Burton currently leads the Big Ten in steals with 39 and Pulliam is tied for fourth in the Big Ten in scoring with 343 points on the season.
Ohio State enters Sunday's matchup after securing two-straight wins, defeating both Minnesota and Illinois. The Buckeyes have a 9-10 record and 5-5 mark in conference play.
Northwestern will wear special pink uniforms as part of a global initiative by teams across the country to raise awareness and support those who have been touched by breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in Sunday's Play4Kay "Pink Game" and Alumni Day. Early arriving fans will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Northwestern Medicine and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.
