‘Cats Fall to No.21 Alabama, Prepare for Auburn

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Wildcats were in action Friday night against the Crimson Tide in their first of two matches this weekend. The 'Cats fell to the top 25 ranked team 2-5.
 
Northwestern started off with doubles team of Nick Brookes and Simen Bratholm taking down the Alabama team of Osama and Kaukovalta, 6-4. The host team would go on to win the next two set to claim the first point of the match.
 
In singles play, junior Dominik Stary made quick work of Alabama's Patrick Kaukovalta, dropping him in two sets (7-6, 6-3). Trice Pickens secured the 'Cat second win of singles, defeating Alexey Nesterov in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 7-6).
 
Antonioni Fasano also went a full three sets before falling to Thibault Cancel in a close third.
 
The 'Cats will be back in action Sunday to take on Auburn in Tuscaloosa beginning at 9 am.
