Northwestern Tops Ohio State, 3-1, in Road Match

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Northwestern volleyball completed their season sweep of Ohio State with a 3-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday for NU's opener of the new Welsh-Ryan Arena against Penn State. Action will start at 7 p.m.

TEAM NOTES
  • Northwestern hit at a .255 clip compared to Ohio State's .121 hitting percentage.
  • NU compiled 11 blocks, while Ohio State had only five.
  • The Wildcats have won both of their matches against Ohio State this season.
  • Chicago's Big Ten Team has won four of their last six matches.
 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Ella Grbac paced the Wildcats with 17 kills, a career high … She also had a career-high tying three digs … Added four blocks.
  • Abryanna Cannon also had double-digit kills, contributing 11 … She also had an assist, two aces, three digs, and three blocks.
  • Alana Walker led the team with seven blocks.
  • Kiara McNulty had her team-high sixth double-double of the season … She finished with 33 assists and 17 digs.
  • Michelle Lee also had double-digit digs, finishing with 12.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • S1 | Northwestern hit at a strong .355 clip and topped Ohio State, 25-19.
  • S2 | Despite six kills and no errors from Ella Grbac, OSU won, 25-18.
  • S3 | Ella Grbac put together another strong set, accumulating five kills with no errors en route to a 29-27 NU win.
  • S4 | NU limited OSU to a -.032 hitting percentage and won, 25-20.
