’Cats Take it To The Wire, Fall to Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Wildcats took the action on the road, kicking off their two game road trip starting on Friday night against Maryland.
 
Northwestern played with grit, taking Maryland neck and neck each match before falling in four sets.
 
The 'Cat will be back in action as they take on Ohio State on Nov. 4 at St. John Arena.  
 
TEAM NOTES:
  • The Wildcats had 50 kills, 48 assists and 54 digs.
  • Led by Sophomore Nia Robinson's 13 kills, the Wildcats had three players with double digits kills over the four sets. Abryanna Cannon and Alana Walker had 11 and 10 respectively. 

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
  • Kiara McNulty had a team high 42 assists and 15 digs, which is tied for the second most since having 22 digs against New Hampshire on Aug. 24. She also had a two kills which is a season high.
  • Sarah Johnson led the Wildcats with three serving aces, the highest since the game against Buffalo on Sept. 7 where she had four.

MATCH NOTES:
S1 | Walker was tied for a game high four kills, unfortunately the 'Cats fell 21-25.
 
S2 | Northwestern bested Maryland with 16 kills to their 13. The 'Cats took the set 25-23.
 
S3 | Northwestern out blocked their opponents 5 to 4 during the third set. Unfortunately the 'Cats dropped the seat 25-22.
 
S4 | Cannon and Lesiak led the 'Cats with three kills apiece in the fourth set, however Maryland took the set 25-23.
