EVANSTON, Ill. – Seniors Puck Pentenga and Eva van Agt were both honored with All-Big Ten selections on Wednesday, as announced by the conference.
Junior Erica Hootstein was also honored with the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
Pentenga was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the second season in a row after leading the team with 11 goals and 13 assists, which added up to the third-most points in the conference this year. Pentenga's 43 assists finish as the third-most in program history.
Pentenga becomes the 17th player in Northwestern history to make two first teams in her career, with Sophia Miller as the last player to accomplish the feat in 2017.
Van Agt earned a spot on the All-Big Ten second team after scoring six goals and six assists this season from the midfield. The senior finished her distinguished career with 27 goals and 14 assists.
Despite missing this season due to injury, Hootstein earned recognition with the Big Ten Sportmanship Award. The students chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These students must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
