EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's basketball head coach Joe McKeown will tip off the season with "Giordano's With Joe" and The Joe McKeown Show, held next Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Giordano's Pizza in Evanston.
Coach McKeown's radio show with WNUR Sports will air live on-site from Giordano's beginning around 6:15 p.m. and will also feature interviews with Northwestern student-athletes.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, eat dinner, listen to The Joe McKeown Show, and interact with Coach McKeown and student-athletes in attendance during the latter half of the evening.
The WNUR hosts will bring fans in attendance into the conversation by conducting a Q&A session with each student-athlete and Coach McKeown after their on-air interviews.
Giordano's is located at 1527 Chicago Ave. in Evanston.
Northwestern returns to the new Welsh-Ryan Arena this year, returning nearly 90 percent of the minutes from last season.
The Wildcats' leading scorer Lindsay Pulliam looks to improve from a stellar first-year, in which she averaged 15 points per game — tops among Big Ten rookies — while shooting over 40 percent from the field. Senior forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah comes off a season in which she averaged a double-double last year on 11 points and 11 rebounds per contest.
