EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern volleyball dropped its match to No. 5 Minnesota, 3-0, on Wednesday night at historic Beardsley Gym.
 
The 'Cats will battle No. 7 Illinois Saturday night in Champaign, Illinois.
 
No. 5 MINNESOTA 3, NORTHWESTERN 0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-15)
 
TEAM NOTES:

• Five different Wildcats combined for a total of six service aces across three sets (Michelle Lee, Nia Robinson, Britt Bommer, Hanna Lesiak, and Sarah Johnson).
• Northwestern compiled 30 kills, 26 digs, and four blocks.

 
INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

• Michelle Lee extended her team in service aces, racking up two in the first set for a season total of 16 … This is her fourth game of the season with multiple aces.
• With 10 kills, Nia Robinson led the squad …  She added a team-high six digs, and one service ace.
• Abryanna Cannon contributed seven kills … She also tallied two total blocks.
• Britt Bommer totalled a team-high 29 assists …She added a kill, an ace, and three digs.
• Olivia Viscuso held the highest hitting percentage for the 'Cats of .571, with four kills on seven attempts.

 
MATCH NOTES:

• S1 | Nia Robinson paced the 'Cats with five kills, but Minnesota took the set, 25-19.
• S2 | Northwestern struggled to gain momentum in the second set, falling to the Golden Gophers, 25-17.
• S3 | Minnesota closed out the match with a 25-15 win.
