EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern volleyball (10-6, 0-4 Big Ten) battled until the end against Iowa (10-5, 2-2 Big Ten), but ultimately fell in the fifth set on Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats are back in action on Wednesday for their third-straight home match. NU will battle Minnesota at 7 p.m. CT.

- This was the Wildcats' first five-set match of the season … Last season, Northwestern went 2-2 when matches went into the fifth set.
- The Wildcats set a season high in blocks with a total of 15.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
- Matching her career high and setting a record for the season, Nia Robinson led the team with 25 kills … She added two blocks, seven digs, and an ace.
- Michelle Lee set her second-highest mark of the season with a team-high 23 digs … She also handed out four assists and tallied one ace.
- Just two counts behind her career-high, Britt Bommer led the team with 49 assists … Her 12 digs match a season-high set on Sept. 1 vs. Stephen F. Austin.
- Alana Walker matched her season high in blocks with eight ... Walker and Abryanna Cannon (6) contributed to a season-high in total blocks for the team.
MATCH NOTES:
- S1 | Despite a push by Iowa to make up for the 'Cats early lead, Nia Robinson's nine kills helped Northwestern take the first set 25-22
- S2 | Though the Wildcats trailed for most of the set, a last minute back-and-forth almost brought Northwestern the win. Iowa ended up taking the set 28-26.
- S3 | The 'Cats struggled to connect in the third set, dropping the set 25-11
- S4 | With a game-high .424 hitting percentage, Northwestern took the set from Iowa despite their early lead, finishing out, 25-23, and forcing a fifth set
- S5 | Northwestern fell, 15-12 in a back-and-forth fifth set.
