EVANSTON, Ill. — In the Wildcats' home opener, Northwestern volleyball (10-5, 0-3 Big Ten) was downed by No. 3 Nebraska (12-1, 3-0 Big Ten) on Friday evening at historic Beardsley Gym.
The 'Cats put a charge into the reigning national champions, holding a late lead in the third set, before ultimately falling, 25-23.
NU is back in action on Sunday against Iowa. The 'Cats battle the Hawkeyes at 1 p.m. at historic Beardsley Gym.

- Britt Bommer led Northwestern with 24 assists … She also tied her season high with two kills while also registering an ace, a block, and seven digs.
- Olivia Viscuso chipped in five kills for the second consecutive game.
- Alana Walker contributed six kills and a team-high four blocks.
MATCH NOTES:
- S1 | A back-and-forth set had Northwestern pull within one, 14-13, before the Huskers took the set 25-19.
