EVANSTON, Ill. — Senior Camden Buescher silenced a capacity crowd at Loyola Soccer Park Friday night when he scored the Golden Goal in the 99th minute to lift Northwestern by the Ramblers, 1-0.
OF NOTE:
• Northwestern (3-1-1) has beaten the ramblers in overtime in back-to-back seasons. The loss dropped Loyola to 1-3-0 on the campaign.
• The goal was Buescher's second of the season, fifth of his career and third career game-winner.
• Sophomore Miha Miskovic picked up his fourth shutout of the season. He had thre saves in the effort.
• Three first-years – Julian Zighelboim, Garrett Opperman and Richie Bennett played the game in its entirety.
• Northwestern and Loyola each had six shots in the contest. Tommy Katsiyiannis led the way for NU with three shots.
• The Wildcats have won four consecutive matches over Division I teams in Chicago.
Northwestern returns to the pitch Sunday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., playing host to UMKC at Martin Stadium.
