EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern football will host its annual Meet The Team Night at Ryan Field on Friday, August 24, with Gate K set to open at 5:30 p.m. CT and the festivities officially beginning at 6 p.m. CT.
Dan & Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald will introduce the Wildcats 2018 team captains for the first time to kick off the event. Fans of all ages will have the opportunity to interact with student-athletes and coaches on the Ryan Field playing surface. Fans can play catch with their favorite players, attempt field goals, take photos and run races with members of the Northwestern Football Family.
Free parking is available in the West Lot of Ryan Field, accessible from Central Street, beginning at 4 p.m. CT, and fans can enter the stadium through Gate K on the southwest side of the venue.
The Wildcats kick off the season with a Big Ten West Division matchup at Purdue on Thursday, August 30, at 7 p.m. CT (WGN AM-720, ESPN). Northwestern will open the campaign with the longest active Power-5 win streak in the nation, capping the 2017 season with eight consecutive victories culminating in the 2017 Music City Bowl championship. Ryan Field will host the best schedule in college football this fall, with visits from Wisconsin, Michigan, Nebraska and Notre Dame highlighting the schedule.
