O'Brien, Roberts Earn USTFCCA All-Academic Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. – Rising juniors Kelly O'Brien and Aubrey Roberts have received 2018 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)
 All-Academic honors, the organization announced this week.
 
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and either finished the indoor regular season ranked in the national Top-96 in an individual event or ranked in the national Top-48 in a relay event, or participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds).

Both O'Brien and Roberts competed at the 2018 Division I Outdoor West Preliminary, making Northwestern one of just two cross country-only schools in the nation to send runners to the NCAA spring postseason.
 
Northwestern kicks off the 2018 cross country campaign on August 31 in Terre Haute, Indiana, where they'll take on Eastern Illinois. The slate features stops at the Badger Classic, Notre Dame Invitational and Pre-NCAA Invitational before the Big Ten Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska, on October 28.
