Northwestern Season Ends at NCAA Championships

STILLWATER, Okla. — In his final round of his Northwestern career, senior Sam Triplett carded a 7-over 79 on Monday at Karsten Creek in the last stroke play round of the NCAA Championships.

Triplett, who was one of the top nine individuals from non-advancing teams, finished in 50th place.

With the conclusion of the round, the 2017-18 season comes to a close for the Wildcats. The squad finished in a 16th-place tie on Sunday, one place off the team cutline. The finish was the best team result since 2000.

The team that won three team championships in the 2017-18 season loses Triplett and senior Dylan Wu, the owner of the second-best career stroke average in Northwestern history.
