O'Brien Caps Regular Season With School Record

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Kelly O'Brien continued an impressive track campaign by running a school record in the 1500M on Saturday night at the OXY Invite, hosted at Jack Kemp Stadium by Occidental University.
 
O'Brien won her heat and posted the eighth-fastest time of the event overall with a 4:24.46 performance in the Wildcats final regular-season competition.
 
Northwestern also saw season-bests earned by Mandy Davis, Sarah Nicholson, Brooke Pigneri, and Andi Ostenso in the 1500M, and Haley Albers turned in a season and personal-best in the 5000M.
 
The Wildcats now await NCAA Preliminary invitations, with a spot certain to go to sophomore Aubrey Roberts in either the 5K or 10K. The West Preliminary will be hosted in northern California by Sacramento State on May 24-26.
