EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern junior Jack Dunn has been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA. The Wildcats' shortstop is one of four infielders and one of 12 players overall who have been selected to represent District V this season.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to be selected for a CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3, or higher, in both undergraduate and graduate studies.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
Dunn, an economics major and business institutions minor, leads Northwestern's offense with a .317 clip at the dish. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native also boasts team-best marks in hits (52), runs scored (33), stolen bases (18) and on-base percentage (.402). On the season, he has tallied 16 multi-hit games and has currently reached base safely in 19 consecutive contests.
A model of consistency and durability, Dunn has played and started in 153 consecutive games – every game since stepping on campus in 2016. He has made 152 of those starts at the shortstop position.
Northwestern will close out the 2018 regular season with a seven-game homestand that begins on Friday, May 11 with a 3:30 p.m. CT contest against Iowa.
